It hadn't the "Touch"

It hadn't the "Touch"

Embers glow to a summoned call
Gravity reverses all that is small
And mould them carelessly tall without form.
Different pieces, the same puzzle
Tightly fit around its muzzle.
Eyes of amber and tears of pearl
Sink beneath a ball of threads and bones.

It groans, it moans, a language unknown.
A final swirl adds a dusty touch.
Breathe on. Mud. A solid hunch.
Suspended, a jaw drops.
The entire THING collapsed.
Common breath couldn't make it feel.
It hadn't the Touch.
HE didn't breathe.

Summer Snow

                                           Summer Snow

                                                                     by Oneil Carter

Summer snow smooth and bare,
Beneath your feet
Memories linger there
Random whispers, from cracked dry sages.
These you fill.
Then lock in cages.

My love,
By morning's ouverture and noons avenue
We'll build only said weather.
On rich summer snow.

Good Night

Come to bed.
Lay your head.
Be enraptured by the slenderness.
Close your eyes.
Visualize,
Steep dreams deep and clean.
Dinging bells lull you there.
Swim in minty grass feel the open air.
Feast on,
'til dawn
While I brush away your sandy cares.
Drill a beat,
Sleep complete
Until the famed lights bid you up.
